Shame on this server, what happens here? Admins changing the map in the middle of the game without anyone to announce, admins kick players who do not want to play with rifle ... wtf ??

I think it would be better to change the server name, it has nothing to do with the old server.

This server sux because of the admins!

Shoot to kill im sorry u feel this way about the admins but gotovina was having problems with rcon tool and it was at end of map not in middle. Im not having a go at u just saying some people are new to this admin thing give them a chance pls.

People are only getting kicked for not playing with rifle after warnings if everyone else is playing with rifle as agreed at beginning of map that person gets 3 warnings and if they dont they get kick (classed as ruining game for everyone else)

i would have to agree with crater on this one!if people all agree to play rifle and 1 person dont wanna do that he could just leave the server so he doesent get kicked

Changing in the middle of the game is not nice and at the end of map isn't so good either. Sometimes this can happen accidently. But there should be some respect towards the admins anyway. Perhaps the admins of the old Hamburger Hill would have done the same. But they didn't play so much I think.

I hope that you can understand this and that you will play on the server in spite of these events. Thanks for posting here. This can help to make the server better.

Where I should start?

First: Rifle only issue... Easy to solve, make extra config file for Rifle Only maps. No explosives at all (Okay, 1 nade wouldn't be bad, if possible), Only bolt action rifles allowed (No other weapons, not even panzerfaust etc.).

Second: Not so "big" problem, but nade/satchel spam is sometimes infernal. In HQ you get points easily, often there are 3-5 player who have over 80 points, so why not change value: set scr_rank_ppr "10" TO set scr_rank_ppr "15". Now you get last rank when you break 60 points.

Third: Not so "big" problem either, but whining about winning team joining and threaten for kicking is pathetic. I know that it's not nice if someone join in winning team, but so what? It's shame for him/her. Also, other players should sometime think before they start whine about WTJ... Sometimes teams are even (like 95-95 points) and when you use auto-assign you will be thrown to other team which is currently controlling the radio and soon they are leading because of that and then other team start blame recently joined player WTJ... I have even seen that happen when leading team have 1 player less than other one and still other team start to blame you WTJ. Seriously...

Fourth: This is problem... Always (almost.. maybe 1/10 times that don't happen), good players get blamed being cheaters. Not bad yet, it's normal and you shouldn't care of it if you are clean, but that don't end there. Next other players start threaten you for kicking and eventually you get kicked. Without any proof and only because you are better than them and if that is not enough, you will be banned... just because you are better than them. Seriously... I know what is to be Admin, I have been admin since summer 2005 (CoD:UO, CoD2 and CoD4) and I have seen lot of "cheaters" and Cheaters and I have been accused for cheating many times. I have almost get banned from our own CoD4 server (I used random nickname back then and so did that other admin too, except I knew his nick but he didn't knew my). I have played this game about 4 years now (about 2000 in game hours) and seen lot of players who I have accused to be cheaters, but how little ammount of knowledge I had then... No single idea how important good sounds are, how much you can get benefit from compass etc. I have learned lot after that and now I am as good or even better than those "cheaters"... now I AM that "Cheater" for most of players and still I have long way to go if I want reach the top.

Now I would ask all of you (admins) why I am banned without any proof? I have played under nickname "Major Seagram" and been accused to be cheater for weeks and no one have ever shown even single bit of evidence againts me, only things what have been shown are just "opinions" and other kind accusions. So show me something what proves that I am cheater (Screenshot of stats where you have been owned is not valid).

btw. 2 smoke grenades are useful if you throw them in row and watch, you can see something nice there, thats why we throw them near the radio. Why I say this? Because someone wonder that some while ago.

Who has kicked u then?

I know its not me cos i havnt kicked anyone for cheating.

Ive kicked for wtj because the team i was in had 1 person left and the oppostion were miles in front on points and cant see the point of that and also that person was warned 3 times and never responded back once or even attempt to move team so I think that kick was deserved.

It wasn't just Kick, it was Ban (It's removed now...). I don't know who it was, cause I don't even know all admins here.

But that kind behavior is still pathetic, I am not the only one who have been kicked from server because they are good and almost always in Top-3. Most of my friends have been kicked numerous times and also threatened for banning. Example yesterday I wasn't only one who get kicked, they kicked also my friend (Mohkofantti) after they accused us as cheaters (In the end of Powcamp someone(chelson maybe) said that "Now those cheaters get kicked/banned") and then they kicked&banned me first and then Mohkofantti get kicked (as far as I know they didn't ban him).

So... who ever did that (kicked&banned me), dare you reveal yourself and explain why, and show needed evidence? It's not fun if you ruin game for other innocent players, just because they are better than you in the game. And, if you are now going to say that they ruin your game... stfu. It's not our fault if you aren't enough good to get good scores when there are good players (aka "cheaters"). We play this game for fun when we are in public servers, thats why I often play without sounds and listen music and talk bs in our ventrilo channel. So is it disallowed for us to play in public servers because we are better than avarage player? Sometimes it seems that it is...

BTW. What is your (admins/server owners etc.) opinion about earlier suggestions? Making own config file for RO-maps and change scr_rank_ppr "10" (ranks: 10-20-30-40) to scr_rank_ppr "15" (ranks: 15-30-45-60), because reaching 40 points in HQ is very easy and after that it's infernal spam of explosives in radio.

But in case some admins decide to play rifle only on other maps too, it is their right in my opinion. Of course it should only be set through when the majority on the server agrees.

Even for you it can be hard to get 40 points in 30 minutes when you are in a team that gets no or hardly radiopoints and I personally preferr the 40 points for satchel. But perhaps some other players have a different opinion.

It would be also good when you reveal your main nick and the nicks the you use to play on the server. Perhaps I remember you. Datamursu could be the Finnish word for database rofl

Ok... for my experience it seems that there weren't those kind extra configure files, example sometimes there were America vs. German maps which have RO-settings. Try to play RO when you are american and you have only sniper rifle..

This is indeed difficult question, but for me it's not big problem cause I have played all gametypes with those (15-30-45-60) settings long time. If your team don't have radiopoints etc. much, then you just have to try harder, thats the way how I think it.

I am already revealed my main nickname and nickname what I use most of the time while I play in public servers. I don't change my nick like socks. If we pay some very close attention for this name issue, you could say that I use nick Major Seagram when I am playing just for fun and my real nickname FinnCod<>Datamursu when I am playing seriously, and that happens almost never in public servers. Last time when I have used that nickname was in United Noobs server because there is going little competition about that who get best KD-ratio when breaking over 100 points in TDM.

BTW: Datamursu (as it written in Finland) could be translated to Datawalrus (Mursu = Walrus)
